Program Economics and Revenue Models: An Innovation Collective Gathering



There are many models for innovation platforms that exist now, but what are the revenue streams that truly make an incubator or accelerator financially sustainable? Are there new ways to monetize startup growth without banking on a 3-year carry or pandering to "innovation theater?"

The NYC Innovation Collective is gathering to discuss what it really means to run a successful innovation program, whether be it an accelerator, incubator, intensive, bootcamp, or startup community. Two different program leaders with long-standing programs will present how they approach sustainability on a practical level, with the opportunity for active input welcome in a roundtable format.

Jeremy Harper Principal, ERA Jeremy is a Principal at Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, investing in early stage technology start-ups across multiple sectors, both enterprise and consumer. ERA’s four-month accelerator program combines ongoing hands-on help, $100K in seed capital and more funding down the road, a great co-working location, and an extensive mentor network to quickly get companies to the next level. Jeremy has screened thousands of companies and has executed over 150 venture investment deals over the last 6 years, ranging from early seed through to Series-B. Jeremy was previously an early employee on the Booz Allen Hamilton commercial financial services team, a digital strategist for Unilever, and the head of marketing for The5thMedium.Jeremy received a B.A. from Brown University.


Brian Frumberg Founder and CEO, VentureOut

Brian is the CEO and founder of VentureOut, which he launched in 2012 while working at Gotham Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund. He started VentureOut as a vehicle to help bridge the gap between the innovators around the world and the opportunities available to them in the New York and San Francisco technology ecosystems.

Brian is also a proud advocate of of the New York City's vibrant technology community, a role he plays as a speaker, a mentor, on the Board of Directors of the NYC Innovation Collective, Founding Member of NYC Tech International, a member of the FWD.us Innovation Council and as the Founder of the Chaminade Alumni Entrepreneurs Association.

Prior to VentureOut, Brian’s career has spanned venture, at Gotham Ventures, consulting, supporting early-stage tech startups in NYC, business development, at OTR Global, and sales, as the youngest institutional salesperson globally at Standard & Poor's. Brian received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Richmond.
